Zaitseve remains one of the hottest points on the front line of Ukraine’s defense against Russian mercenaries. Recently, a Ukrainian TV network crew led by ICTV journalist Taras Korniyuk visited the front. The crew immediately witnessed a fierce night attack by the separatists. Soldiers say such attacks are not rare phenomenon, the terrorists lunch an assault on Ukrainian positions using munitions of all sizes, including those banned under the Minsk II agreement.
Realizing how important the issue is of providing soldiers with equipment in this hot spot, we continue to collect donations for the project Rapid Response. Initially, we spent a portion of the collected funds to equip the fighters of the 43rd Battalion and the 53rd Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are defending Zaitseve. Communication devices and modern optics are among the most needed gear we promptly provided thanks to your help.
Among other military equipment, we decided to pay special attention to the snipers: for them bought ultramodern Pulsar Apex XD75 Thermal Sight and other equipment for marksmanship. The devices fell into the right hands – the legend battalion sniper with the callsign “Grandfather”, who in turn gave it to his disciple, an excellent fighter named Vasyl. Thanks to Vasyl, armed with the new sight, not one enemy saboteur went to a meeting his Creator. However, some nights later a tragedy occurred: during an attack Vasyl was killed. Details of Vasyl’s death can be read here.
During that infamous attack the sight was damaged. We are very responsible for everything twe buy with your donations and try to distribute acquired gear effectively and economically. Understanding how urgent ithe need is to combat saboteurs at night, we immediately sent the soldiers a temporary replacement – another thermal imaging device – a Pulsar Apex XD75. Meanwhile the damaged sight was ohanded back to us and we have sent it for repair, and we have to pay the cost of its restoration. The required part, a high-tech front lens will cost 15,450 UAH. Only after that will the sight again go to the front, where the guys will be able to avenge Vasyl and continue to fight the enemies with maximum efficiency.
Remember the project Rapid Response aims to support the maximum combat effectiveness of units that are fighting for positions and restrain the invaders from further attacks. It is thanks to your donations Ukraine’s defenders are presented with much-needed gear and equipment quickly.
