To our project, Spare Parts and Supplies a new “wounded” party has been admitted. It’s our old friend the BTR-80 armored personnel carrier (APC) that belongs to the heroic 79th Brigade – the so-called “cyborgs” of Donetsk Airport. Previously, we mounted spaced armor on the BTR as part of the People’s Armor project. Protected by these shields, the APC took part in numerous fierce fights. It participated in the battles for the Donetsk Airport and Debaltseve. The armor not only saved the vehicle from serious damage but, more importantly, saved the lives of several military personnel.
Now, the APC is battle-weary and needs some repair and attention, and who better to take care of it than our volunteers. Firstly we need to repair the aggregate base and then it will be transferred to the People’s Armor 2 project to install new protective shields.
Both these projects are supported by PrivatBank. Together we will do our best to get the vehicle ready as soon as possible. When we are done the APC will go back to front to help and protect our defenders.
