Sharp and unexpected phrase “sniper at work” cause a nervous trembling at the front line. Life stops. You will never know, what and who exactly is in the sight of the sniper. Even if someone makes a move it is on the run, wearing maximal amount of armor. Machine gunners disappear from the machine guns, as they know, they are the most attractive snipers’ target. After the first attempt to use the machine gun the bullet hits through a hole in a pillbox.
The line of russian enemy got dead-quiet. Ukrainian snipers work here today. Marine snipers dissolve in disguise on a landscape. From time to time enemy guns shot. Enemy shoot for a reason. They hit the sky, trying to provokes Ukrainian snipers for a reply. If it is true, then enemy fighters are in trouble.
Snipers’ duel is always quiet. The roar of explosions, gunfire from all calibers, shots of thousands of bullets are not the sniper stories. This is a race of nerves and endurance. From time to time enemy tries to confuse the sniper, simulating the reflection of optics with a shimmering of a mirror. Ukrainian snipers can not be cheated, so the silence prevail on positions. Just once in a while silence got broken by the queries from PK machine gun.
In a few hours dark figure appears near one of the enemy’s dugouts and carries something heavy on a shoulder.
– Rom, the target is on 1 o’clock from the double pillbox, – says the artillery observer, and sniper follows his command. He reduces the multiplicity of sight, finds the target, increases the multiplicity again and takes shape into the intersection.
– In progress.
In 2 seconds sounds a shot. In another 2 the shadowy figure falls down and disappears in the darkness.
– Have I hit him? My the sight shifted from the shot, so I did not quite caught it, – asks the sniper the artillery observer.
Instead of the answer arrives a bullet from the enemy’s side.
– He saw us, run! – hisses the artillery observer.
– Wait, i can see him! – says sniper. He saw the enemy sniper, and shoots again.
– Where is he? Where is he? – the artillery observer looks into his binoculars.
– He is exactly where i thought he would be, at the column. He shot, and the dust… – the enemy’s shoot interrupts the phrase again.
– Rom, lets go!
Another bullet ricochets from a tree nearby.
Another shot.
– Rom, he is running away. Lets go, or they will start with the machine guns!
– He run away, bastard, – and disguised soldiers slowly move away.
Suddenly, enemy starts attacking with a machine gun. Along with it can be heard a rifle. The second sniper, who works nearby, guards situation, and waits for the suitable moment. Enemy machine gunners have no chance to work for a long time. Rom got to a trench, and falls down like a sack. He hisses, because of the pain in his foot, but the valuable rifle he holds gently, like a baby.
– Run away, bastard…

– But you know what? Do not worry? Its fine. He is quite lazy bastard. They often return to old positions. I think we will hunt that pig, – says Rom, getting the cigarette out of his pocket.
This story I heard from the first hands. Snipers, who just returned from hunting told it to me, while packing their equipment. There is no job today in here. For the next 24 hours minimum this area will be clean. A fear of a sniper will make enemies hiding in their holes. Ukrainian defenders will work today in another sector. Commander checks the tablet and gives the task. Those defenders, who just spend a few hours on a positions enter the data to the ballistic calculator, smoke and warm up. With the next task the group moves to the new positions. Today there is plenty of them. Every day they defend Ukraine. So, have a good hunt, friends.
