Nobody wants to celebrate holidays at the hospital. One more patient of The Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded Project Sergiy go home to rest for a little while before the next stage of a treatment. Sergiy joined the project just recently, but he already got a femur set in a right position, and fixed with the Ilizarov apparatus. At the place of injury he had a recipient bed prepared for future use of cellular material. Defect area is temporarily filled with special medical cement. The tissues of a leg have to rest a little bit. Leg still looks horrifying, but it keeps getting better
Doctors were forced to hurry because of a serious condition of the wounded. Sergiy suffers from the effects of explosive injury of a hip. Related complications worsen his condition even more. Sergiy tried to heal the bone with help of a conventional medicine a year ago, but attempts proved to be futile. A year of a treatment and seven surgeries does not help the bone to fuse, and leg shortened by four centimeters. Peroneal nerve is damaged. Metabolism in a tissues of the leg changed, so in a year muscles and tendons shrunk; feet and it’s toes got twisted.
