Recently, we showed you how our instructors trained SpecOps divers to counter enemy infiltrators. Now we are going to tell you how on the last, the sixth day of their drills, the NGU’s divers learned to get to distant destinations fast and undetected. The group mastered handling of the up-to-date underwater scooters of the Suex kind, as well as accomplished practical diving with these.
Before diving the cadets took a course in theory
For your information: top underwater speed of such scooter is 5 km/h, and the maximum range – 8km. Of course, these 8km can be swum in flippers – this is exactly what we taught our divers to do during the course. Still when it comes to fast and noiseless work, it is quite difficult to manage without special equipment!
Now to practice: last instructions as regards handling scooters
The underwater scooter fast and invisibly gets the military diver aground, to say, in the enemy’s rear. There the diver rapidly changes his clothes, puts his equipment into a stash and from that moment on mingles with locals. Perfect for an infiltrator! On completion of his mission the algorithm remains the same: to change the outfit and insert a new accumulator into the scooter – and off he goes back! Like this:
During the training the instructors deployed six different models so that in three hours the whole group of divers could master skills of handling underwater scooter as well as learned how to safely operate them. You can follow the whole process of training in 24 TV’s story.
“Surprisingly, the most difficult thing was to teach the divers swimming, – the chief instructor and founder of the School of Military Divers, Kostyantyn Myrhorodskyi admits. – Still the guys proved to be exceptionally well-trained to work with equipment, so when it came to work with the scooters, they experienced practically no problems.”
Perhaps you would like to ask whether the enemy divers are able to get to our seashore that easily and secretly as well. They can. Actually, we have to be prepared for any setup. That is why the teams of the School of Military Divers have been training divers belonging to different branches, from border guards to Special Operations Forces, and developing their training courses for any military branch to deploy the military divers in full.
The NGU’s SpecOps divers. It is these guys who provide defense against all possible attacks performed by saboteur groups from the sea. According to their own words, “if there is an attack in the South, we are the first to respond!”.
