Rapid Response

Main news from the frontline as at morning of March, 12th

The weekend at the forefront has proved to be rather unquiet. The enemy did not cease shelling which resulted in two WIA and one KIA among the Ukrainian fighters.

?Over the past 24 hours there were fatalities as well: one Ukrainian soldier was killed while carrying out his combat mission. Another three got wounded as the result of hostile shelling. All of them were provided necessary medical assistance.

?Altogether, over the past 24 hours russian militants violated the Minsk agreements and terms of unlimited truce having opened targeted fire at the Ukrainian positions for the four times in a row.

?In the Luhansk sector, the enemy shelled Troiitske, Luhanske and Novozvanivka using mortars and large caliber machine guns.

?In the Donetsk sector, the militants shelled Verkhniotoretske using large caliber machine guns and small arms.

?In Luhansk region Ukrainian military men prevented a terrorist from escaping to government-controlled territory. Following fire attack at the Ukrainian positions, the militant tried to flee towards the area controlled by Ukraine, avoiding checkpoints. He would have succeeded in his attempt if it were not for an observant fighter of a motorized infantry brigade. The captured militant was armed with an AK-74N and owned a military ID under the name of Soloiid Igor Victorovich issued by an occupational russian administration. An exciting conversation with competent bodies awaits the militant, and meanwhile you can watch this short video in which he complaints of his hard life:

?Donetsk filtration plant is currently performing on the verge of its possibilities being continuously shelled at on the part of russian militants. Today, on the 12th of March, the occupiers shelled the plant’s workers who were heading to work. A GAZ-53 vehicle transporting the shift workers to the Donetsk filtration plant, got under fire. Luckily, none of the personnel was injured. Nevertheless, radiator of the vehicle got damaged in the fire.

?Starting from today, in the temporary occupied Luhansk region the terrorists stopped sale of tickets to the “mainland”. Locals got surprised to learn that they were deprived of the possibility to buy a ticket to the Ukraine-controlled Stanytsia Luhanska. No reasons behind that decision were voiced; still, they say the situation is hardly going to improve in the next three days. “Nobody explains anything. They [the militants] are just screwing with us! Those who try to leave the area, have to spend hours standing in long queues at the checkpoints,” – a Luhansk resident tells us on conditions of anonymity.
