On June 27, 2026, the Lviv AI Day conference, organized by Lemberg Tech Business School, took place in Lviv. The event brought together specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, but this time the agenda went beyond purely technical topics.
Together with the People’s Project charitable foundation, the organizers held a fundraiser for smartphones for infantrymen of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade, which operates in the Donetsk (Pokrovsk) direction. The fundraising goal was UAH 30,000.
The event became another example of how specialized business conferences in Ukraine combine a business program with direct support for the front.
Lviv AI Day is a conference held by Lemberg Tech Business School, an organization with many years of experience in holding IT events in Lviv, including Lviv Mobile Development Day, GameDev Conference, Lviv PM Day, and Lviv Freelance Forum.

Format: an offline conference with a charitable component
The idea of combining an IT event with fundraising for the front is not new, but it works differently each time. Here, it worked successfully: the organizer of the charitable initiative, Viktoriia Lopachuk, Chief Operating Officer of Lemberg Tech Business School, managed to integrate the fundraiser into the event format so that it did not look like an unrelated addition but became part of the program.
At first glance, it may seem that tablets are a higher priority for the military—they are indeed actively issued to units. But this format is inconvenient for the infantry.

That is why the People’s Project foundation and the 38th Separate Marine Brigade requested assistance with purchasing smartphones rather than other equipment.
Conference participants could donate to the Monobank jar or transfer money to a card. The organizers also added a prize draw to motivate people to support the fundraiser:
The goal of UAH 30,000, set by the organizers before the conference, was achieved. The money was used to purchase smartphones for units of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade—the People’s Project foundation already has a photo report on the purchase of the equipment.
This is another example of how even purely technological events can directly affect the provision of the front with necessary tools.
After the equipment purchase was completed, representatives of the brigade sent the People’s Project foundation an official message thanking the participants in the fundraiser. The service members emphasized that assistance from civilians and volunteer organizations remains one of the key factors that allow units to receive the necessary equipment on time:
On the foundation’s website, you can find official acceptance and transfer certificates for charitable assistance.
One such certificate records the transfer of a batch of Realme C71 6/128GB smartphones with Vodafone Joice Start starter packages to a military unit—10 pieces of equipment worth UAH 59,990. The document was signed by the head of the foundation and a representative of the military unit and certified with the seals of both parties, confirming that the equipment was officially transferred to the unit’s balance sheet rather than simply purchased “for nowhere.”
An important point: the fundraiser for smartphones for the 38th Separate Marine Brigade did not close together with the conference. Funds continue to come in, and the People’s Project foundation continues to purchase equipment in batches—this is how new acceptance and transfer certificates similar to the one shown above appear.

And the response already received from the soldiers shows that the assistance reaches its intended destination:

The story of this fundraiser shows something worth remembering: it is not necessary to organize a separate charity event to raise a significant amount. Sometimes it is enough to add a charitable component to an already planned conference—and then the fundraiser takes on a life of its own, and anyone can join it.
