Thanks to the donations the necessary amount of money was collected to treat two more defenders as part of The Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded Project. Almost 1.5 million UAH were transferred to the account of the Ilaya Clinic. That was just the right amount to fully cover expenses for treatment of Roman and Evgen.
Roman is one of the most difficult patients. The guy have almost no shoulder, which was heavily damaged by close mine explosion. Debris torn the muscle apart and crushed the bone. At the moment Roman has no shoulder joint also.

The guy went through coma and ten surgeries in state and military hospitals. What conventional medicine can offer is an artificial joint, firm attachment of the bone to the shoulder blade (arthrodesis) or amputation. None of the mentioned options say anything about the complete recovery.
Shoulder bone and joint are almost absent in the hand of Roman
The last resort for Roman is the cellular technology which should reconstruct the missing pieces of the bone and will help the guy get back to normal life.
Evgen joined the project just recently. The young scout has both hands and the right leg heavily damaged. Evgen has been through the hottest points of the front right under the fire. During one battle against the enemy’s marines he received significant injuries. Colleague saved the guy and got him out from the battlefield despite the fact that man tried to continue the fight, even being heavily injured.

At the very beginning of treatment Evgen had damaged right knee ligament, dislocation of the right shoulder, smashed right forearm and crushed bones of the left wrist. After he was offered with the amputation of the fingers or usage of fracture fixating plates at the state hospitals the man turned to The Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded Project.
The conventional medicine offers are amputation or inept fingers
The dislocated shoulder had been put together using the Bristow technique. On the shoulder blade there was grown a locking scar, using patient’s own cells to prevent the bone head against jumping out of the joint. Also capture of the cellular materials for further treatment of the bone defect took place. Only this king of treatment gives the man a chance for a complete recovery.
Both hands of the man are severely damaged
The 1.5 million UAH are too much money for the families of the soldiers to pay for their treatment. Only thanks to the donations through The Bioengineering Rehabilitation for Wounded Project those two guys can have a chance for full recovery and normal healthy life. The state budget does not cover such treatment, which is necessary for defenders, so the support of the project is of high importance.
