Why is it important?
In a hybrid war that has lasted two years, the spread of information has taken on extremely important significance. The amount of propaganda and misinformation spread by the enemy is extremely high. Ukrainian governmental institutions and politicians can do little to combat this. Meanwhile, these deliberately distorted or invented facts about the war in Eastern Ukraine, are being distributed in the global media space, shaping the opinions of citizens of other countries about the conflict and the role of Ukraine in it. Therefore, we believe volunteers who oppose the aggressor, propagandists, and terrorists in this information war, exposing the lies and spreading the real facts about the military presence of Russia in Donbas, play a vitally important role.
The project InformNapalm, consisting of volunteers, is doing a great job collecting, processing and analyzing information concerning the undeclared war waged by Russia against Ukraine and Russia’s war crimes in other countries. InformNapalm has already established itself as a powerful information community that produces a high-quality research and intelligence information product. Volunteer interpreters and members of the project translate the information into more than 20 languages. This allow people in other countries to get accurate information and counter the Russian propaganda.
Video presentation about InformNapalm for an English-speaking audience.
It is InformNapalm who, based on their own investigations, gathered and translated evidence of military presence in Donbas and documented military equipment and more than 70 military units. It is InformNapalm who collected and published base data on the Russian VKS pilots, who performed criminal orders in Syria. Currently, a team of volunteers have created about 100 videos, which have together collected almost 8.5 million views. Some of the uploaded videos have been created by Ukrainian activists, based on material resulting from their own investigations. As part of the project volunteers have completed more than 1,000 investigations and more than 5000 translations into different languages. InformNapalm has done a lot for the common victory of Ukraine in the war against the aggressor. But the war continues and there is still a lot of work to be done. Now the team of volunteers need help with the purchase of laptops and other accessories for the OSINT * expert community.
*OSINT (Open Source INTelligence) is defined as intelligence from open sources and is one of the intelligence disciplines.
The People’s Project team appreciates the important work that the InformNapalm volunteers do and asks you to join in raising funds for equipment for five OSINT-experts who do important work for Ukraine’s common victory.
In the following video you can learn more about the work of the InformNapalm activists.
